Safeguarding

At Poplar Farm School, safeguarding our children is the responsibility of everyone.

Mrs Buckley, Deputy Head Teacher is our Designated Safeguarding Lead at Poplar Farm Primary School. Mrs Anderson, Mrs Hodson and Mrs Thorpe are all Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leaders.

We have a governor who is responsible for checking our safeguarding policies and procedures – making sure that we are doing everything we can to keep our school and community as safe as it can be. Our safeguarding Governor is Mina Douglas.

In the event of anyone above being unavailable, please contact the Designated Safeguarding Trustee, Paul Tallentire on 03300 585 520.

If you have any concerns about things that you have heard, seen or read, then please contact the school and let us know.

PREVENT Duty

The UK government has recently placed a legal duty on schools to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.

In order to fulfil this legal duty schools must understand what is expected of them. They must be aware of the practical steps that they can take to implement effective safeguarding systems, and must develop a good understanding of the nature of these rapidly evolving issues.

The documents below detail the new legislation.
